About

Micaiah is a third-year undergraduate student majoring in biomedical engineering and minoring in data science. While in the Sheybani laboratory, he has worked on generating multimodal metrics for benchmarking antibody delivery following FUS BBBO in breast cancer brain metastases, and his research currently concentrates on immune profiling in combination therapies of FUS and myeloid-targeted immunotherapies. He was a 2024 Summer Undergraduate Dean’s Fellow, a 2025 UVA nominee for the Barry Goldwater Scholarship, and is serving his second term as the vice president of the UVA undergraduate biomedical engineering society. Upon graduation from UVA, he plans to pursue a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering with a focus on immunoengineering. Outside of the lab, he enjoys reading, cooking, playing guitar, leading in student ministry, and exploring theology through his residential program at the Center for Christian Studies.
