About
Owen is a fourth-year biomedical engineering undergraduate student at the University of Virginia, who after graduation, will join the Sheybani Lab as a Provost Fellow and graduate student. His personal projects include an investigation of how thermally ablative FUS can be leveraged to enhance CAR-T cell efficacy in triple negative breast cancer, the exploration of how boiling histotripsy can modulate hypoxia in pancreatic cancer, the evaluation of sonogenetic CAR-T cells as a combinatorial with FUS, and the creation of a series of varying post experimental analysis programs to quantify IF, MRI, and IHC images. His graduate work will see a continuation of this research, with an emphasis on the exploration of novel directions backed by the skills derived in his undergraduate career. Outside of lab work, he enjoys weightlifting, pickleball, hiking, playing guitar, volunteering at a dog rescue, and amateur website creation.
